EU4YOU – Final Seminar

The participants of our KA2 “EU4YOU – Entrepreneurship for cultYOUre” met one last time in July, in Strasbourg, France, for the final seminar of this Capacity Building project. One last meeting to reflect on the past two years, harvest the fruits of our work and evaluate the project.

The aim of this long-term project was to develop innovative complementary pathways for boosting employability of young people through social youth entrepreneurship and providing them with tools for cultural entrepreneurship in particular. Youth Express Network developped this project together with partners from 3 different continents.

On Day 4, the participants worked hard on finalising their toolkit! This toolkit will shortly be published on our pages, so stay tuned 😉

DAY 5 & 6

– – –

This seminar closed a successful 2-year long partnership, spread over 8 countries and 3 continents! It allowed dozens of youth workers to discover the good practices of their peers, opened them to different realities, different methods and solutions… It allowed the creation of future inter-continental partnerships and resulted on the creations of a detailed toolkit, soon available to help young people develop their own projects of social and/or cultural entrepreneurship.

Thanks to all of our partners for their dedication: Active Bulgarian Society (Bulgaria), Active Youth (Lithuania), Bic Serrès (Greece), CSDS (Vietnam), Brigada De Voluntarios Bolivarianos del Peru (Peru), International Initiatives for Cooperation (Mexico), Fundación Ses (Argentina).

EU4YOU – Job Shadowing Process

News from our KA2 “EU4YOU – Entrepreneurship for cultYOUre”. At the end of last year, the partners of our capacity building activity all took part in the job shadowing phase, welcoming and sending their participants to their partners’ countries and organisations.

This long-term project aims at developing innovative complementary pathways for boosting employability of young people through social and cultural youth entrepreneurship and providing youth with tools to develop these initiatives. Over the months of October, November and December of last year, the 8 partners started the job shadowing phase of the project.

Each partner organisation both welcomed and sent 2 people to experience a job shadowing and gather content for the jointly developed toolbox. The job shadowers got to explore the various ways of implementing social and cultural entrepreneurship in the countries of the partnership: Argentina, Bulgaria, France, Greece, Lithuania, Mexico, Peru and Vietnam. You can read the various reports of these job shadowing on the website of the project.

YOUTH EXPRESS NETWORK – Job Shadowing in France

Youth Express Network received the visit of its two job shadowers from the 15th to the 26th of November. We were happy to welcome Thuy, from our Vietnamese partner Center for Sustainable Development Studies and Maximiliano, from our Argentinian partner Fundación Sustentabilidad, Educación y Solidaridad.

For them, we organised visits of local organisations and initiatives in the field of social and cultural entrepreneurship:

  • Association L’étage, French member organisation of Y-E-N, social restaurant and shelter for homeless young people
  • Week for equality and against discrimination, week-long event organised by the municipality of Strasbourg to raise awareness against hate speech and discrimination amongst children and young people (exhibition and educational activities)
  • Libre Objet, organisation aiming at helping the professional (re-)insertion of people with fewer job opportunities (disabled people, young people, elderly, people recently out of prison…). Main activity: creation of useful and decorative objects using recycled material or objects out of order.

EU4YOU – Kick-off meeting in Bulgaria

Our first meeting of the year took place in Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria, at the end of January. It was the Kick-off meeting of our Capacity Building project “EntreprenEUrship for CultYOUre” (EU4YOU), hosted by Active Bulgarian Society (ABS). This seminar gathered social workers from 8 different organisations coming from Argentina, Bulgaria, France, Greece, Lithuania, Mexico, Peru and Vietnam.

This international project will last for 2 years. It will allow its 8 partners to share good practices in order to develop innovative complementary pathways for boosting employability of young people through social youth entrepreneurship, as well as to provide them with tools for cultural entrepreneurship.

During this 7 days meeting, the participants got to know each other, the various organisations involved and the ins and outs of the project.

Together, they developed an action plan for the future months. Find here bellow a timeline of the chronological timeline of the project EU4YOU.

They also got to share some Team Building activities, meet with guests from Blagoevgrad region, visit the city and surroundings. As an introduction exercice, they developed in small groups five ideas for social enterprises which were later presented to all the partners and discussed in detail.

One of the result of the 2-year-long project will be a Toolkit on social entrepreneurship and cultural management, giving practical directions to young people on how to create, manage and sustain an enterprise.
