Young Europeans Unite for a Greener Future in Lake Plastira : 3-9 June 2025

The EcoVanguards youth exchange took place in the breathtaking natural landscape of Lake Plastira, bringing together thirty young people from Greece, Italy, Spain, Türkiye, and France. Designed as a multilingual space for ideas, discovery, and experiential learning, the project encouraged participants to reconnect with nature while exploring practical ways to protect the environment.

Throughout the exchange, the group immersed themselves in activities that highlighted the power of nature-based solutions. At the Plastira Lake Botanical Garden, they learned about local plants and even produced essential oils, experiencing firsthand how natural resources can be used sustainably. Their visit to the Open Air Museum of Modern Art offered another perspective: how art and the environment can coexist, communicate, and inspire ecological reflection.

Workshops, group discussions, and creative activities in the forest allowed participants not only to learn but also to cultivate a deeper sense of collective responsibility toward the planet. By sharing experiences, listening to one another, and observing the beauty of their surroundings, they discovered that environmental change begins with honest encounters, curiosity, and collaboration. The project also equipped them with practical skills to address environmental challenges within their own communities.
EcoVanguards stands as a reminder that meaningful change can begin when young people come together, learn from nature, and believe in a greener, more sustainable future.
