Nevo Parudimos in partnership with 6 other international associations: Egyutthato Kozossegepito Egyesülete, Asociacion Munticultural Nakelamos (Spain), Roma (Macedonia), Integro Association (Bulgaria), Youth Express Network (France), Stranaidea (Italy) held a training between 16-24 January 2017 entitled “Roma Youth, European Youth 4”.
The training, which happens to be the first activity of the project “Roma youth, European Youth 4”, brought together 21 young volunteers/youth workers from Nevo Parudimos’ partner organisations from Hungary, Spain, Macedonia, Bulgaria, France and Italy, in order to teach them how to become youth workers specialised in work with young Roma and to apply and use the 9 steps in working with young Roma, mainly methods of working with non-formal education through various activities.
Besides the training that took place in Herculane, European Roma Youth Project Youth-4 included two more activities:
A practical activity where participants from each country put into practice rules to plan activities conducted during our training until the second meeting by using the 9 steps in working with young Roma. The goal was to form a group of young people at a local level to organise an activity with their support for other young people in the local community where they came from. Their results will be shared with other colleagues during the seminar to be conducted in June 2017.
An evaluation and exchange seminar which will also take place in Romania at Marabu Camp between the 1st and the 9th of June 2017 in Milcoveni village, Berliste town, Caras-Severin county.
The overall objectives of the project are as follow:
- To enable the 7 partner NGO’s to work with young Roma
- To increase the use of the guide “9 steps in working with Roma youngsters”
- To increase the participation of young Roma
- To promote non-formal education and practical life learning for Roma young people
The project is funded by the European Commission, Erasmus +, Key Action 1 Mobility of youth workers, reference no. 2016-2- RO01-KA105- 024898.
