Our RE(DIS)COVER seminar in few words
This summer we organized a week-long seminar (August 17-22) in Strasbourg for youth workers. We had the opportunity to welcome 20 participants from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Romania, Bulgaria, Italy and France.
The objective of this seminar was to rediscover youth work after the pandemic. Indeed, young people have been particularly affected by the pandemic. Security measures, such as staying at home, have accentuated the vulnerability of young people in accessing their human rights (social life, right to education, etc.). We wanted to enable new youth workers to discover the values of this work, to share knowledge with them and to give them practical skills. To do this, we had organized several workshops such as: the presentation of the members present, intercultural moments, the creation of a toolfair, Yoga and Meditation sessions…
Participants had the opportunity to listen to Brigitte, the founder of Y-E-N, during the Very Important Project as well as Katarina for the Expert Call concerning the impact of covid on Youth Work.
Feed-back on our seminar for youth workers
Thanks to this seminar, we have boosted networking and created partnerships between our member/partner organisations. We also strengthen our members’ sense of belonging to our network (using the same common tools, methods and approaches to be used in youth work online and offline).
16 local actions have been launched in 11 different countries and a pedagogical report that will compile all the best practices, tools and workshops presented during the Toolfair will be set up (it will be available on our site in our library).
Once again, we would like to thank the French Erasmus+ agency and the European Youth Foundation (EYF) of the Council of Europe for funding this project. A massive thank you to our members for trusting us and for encouraging young Europeans to participate in this project: Nevo Parudimos, Yeghvard, FYCA, CSYO, IDC, YFU Turkey, Centrul de Resita, and Etage. We are also grateful for the participation of 33 Officina Creativa, The Civic Resource Center, HOP and the Office de la Jeunesse de Mulhouse and we hope to see them join our network soon. Finally, we would like to thank our trainers who animated this seminar with passion, as well as all the participants for coming.
“I really enjoyed playing Dignity land because I didn’t know that much about human rights.”
“Each of my colleagues was amazing. I really appreciate the fact that young people are involved in such nice projects.”
