“The Social Economie, the Future of Europe”

At the beginning of May (5th and 6th), the European Conference entitled “Social Economy, the future of Europe” was held at the Palais de la Musique et des Congrès in Strasbourg, under the auspices of the French Presidency of the Council of the European Union #pfue22

Mrs. Jeanne Barseghian, Mayor of Strasbourg, and former Delegate for the Social and Solidarity Economy of the Eurometropole, opened these two days.

She was followed by many European representatives, such as Manon Aubry, Co-President of the Social Economy Intergroup at the European Parliament, or even Mariya Gabriel, Commissioner in charge of “Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth”.

As part of the working group led by the CRESS Grand-Est, Y-E-N was represented by Aloïs, our current Communication Officer and student to become SSE project manager.
During these two days, Aloïs in partnership with La Recyclerie by Amitel and Octop’Us facilitated a workshop in the youth village about clothes recycling and waste awareness. He also contributed to the design of the Instagram account ess.strasbourg

More than 170 proposals were gathered in order to co-construct this very rich program.

At Y-E-N, we retain exciting exchanges and debates, the discovery of new associations, a better understanding of the functioning of communities, and the encounter between academics and young people, committed to the social and solidarity economy of tomorrow.
