We are recruiting a Communication and Event Project Officer

Position and responsibilities:

As Communication Officer, you will work under the direction of the Secretary General and under the strategic guidelines of the Board. You will follow the communication strategy already established.

Your two main communication goals will be to: strengthen the sense of belonging of the Member Organisations part of our network and to enhance the image of the network at the local, national and European level. 

As such, your main missions are the following:

Internal communication: Ensure good internal communication between the secretariat and the member organisations, facilitate the creation of a real community and sense of belonging of the member organisations to Y-E-N, support the member organisations and secretariat to understand and better communicate about the key topics of Y-E-N’s work – mainly social inclusion and provision of youth work for all. 

External communication:  manage emailing campaigns (newsletter, create different communication supports (business cards, flyers, posters, kakemono…), and increase the visibility of the organisation’s activities and the outreach of our messages and initiatives within the various European networks and fora where Y-E-N is taking part.  

Events: design, management, and distribution of communication campaigns for each event created, photo and video coverage during events, including relations with traditional and online media as well as, social media.

Community Management: Managing of our Facebook / Instagram / YouTube accounts including production of content, videos, graphic content, strategic monitoring. 

Website: management and updating of the association’s website (WordPress), writing and publishing of blog articles in French and English, improving SEO.

Reporting: Monitoring of indicators and results as defined in the communication strategy

To achieve these tasks, you will set up a communication planning (retroplanning, distribution plan).

Your secondary duties include: 

  • Representation of the network/office at public events, meetings
  • Support the office in other tasks related to day-to-day operation 

Profile of the ideal candidate:

  • Be no older than 27 years old at the beginning of the mission due to Fonjep Jeune grant 
  • Minimum 3 years of higher education in communication and/or proven experience in the field of communication and/or events
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal (B2 in English). You are able to synthesize and illustrate complex information. 
  • Mastery of French required (B2): the communication officer must be comfortable writing articles, posts and other communications materials in French. Use of inclusive language.
  • Mastery of computer tools (WordPress, Office suite), collaborative tools (slack, drive) and project monitoring tools (Excel, dashboard)
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team
  • Production of graphic content and videos: without being a professional graphic designer, you have an artistic sensitivity
  • Soft skills: creative, curious, able to make proposals, sense of responsibility, versatile, autonomous, organized, adaptable
  • Experience in the associative field (desirable)
  • Knowledge and practice of the German language (desirable)
  • Experience in working or volunteering in different countries than one’s own (desirable)

Terms of contract:

📍 Location: Annex of the Maison des Associations in Strasbourg, but international travel is to be expected. Possibility of remote working two days per week.

💰 Remuneration: According to the National Collective Agreement for Animation: Éclat group D (luncheon vouchers + reimbursement of 50% of the transport ticket + insurance Mut’est + training).

⏱ Permanent contract: 35 hours per week. Some evening meetings and weekend projects outside of business hours and days.
