Training course – Re-think

In April, we organized the Re-Think Training Course. A weeklong training course that took place at the European Youth Center Strasbourg, dedicated to youth workers from all over Europe.

During 6 days 20 participants and 5 teamers exchanged and shared their views on social inclusion and youth work for young people with fewer opportunities.

The TC aim was to equip youth workers with the necessary and innovative competencies to run social inclusion programs on a local level, especially in disadvantaged neighborhoods and with marginalized youth.

The participants got the chance to learn more about that topic and start preparing their own project that they had the opportunity to implement back locally in June thanks to a micro-grant funded by EYF.

On day two, the 20 participants got to know each other better through some team-building activities before really getting started on the topic.

First, with an analysis of what are social inclusion and youth work and what it really means, and then by taking some time to discuss the issues and challenges of youth work post covid.

On the 3rd day, the participants had the opportunity to discuss with Cosmin, an expert from the Civic Resource Center of Constanta, who shared knowledge on youth work with vulnerable youngsters.

Our staying at the European Youth Center Strasbourg was also the opportunity to discover more about the center and the work of the European Youth Foundation, through a tour and a presentation.

The rest of the day was dedicated to analyzing the Enter! Recommendation.

The day ended with a beautiful intercultural evening, a great opportunity to discover the cultures of each participant.

On the fourth day of the training course, the participants started to think about their own project for local youngsters with fewer opportunities, which they implemented back home during the month of June.

On the last day, the participants got to work on their projects with their tutors before presenting them to others to benefit from the advice of their peers.
These projects have now been implemented by our participants in June.

This day was also the occasion to say goodbye after this beautiful week and to give our participants their certificate and youthpass.
